One of the most important elements of a tennis player’s uniform is their shoes. Tennis shoes can make or break your game, and it’s critical to find a pair of shoes that fit well and best suit your position on the court. This week, we’re taking a look a look at some of the top-rated tennis shoes in 2022.
Asics Court FF 2
What the reviews say:
“These shoes are amazing for lateral movement and quick sprints while playing tennis. The tongueless “sock” design holds your foot very well. The sole is hard and grips pretty well but slips just enough, not too much. These shoes seem extremely well-made and I don’t expect these to have weak points that will fail before the rest of the shoe.”
Adidas Adizero Ubersonic 4
What the reviews say:
“I recently was in the market for a new pair of tennis shoes in hopes of finding some better traction and support. I’ve had good experiences with Adidas in the past, so I thought I’d give these a try. I’m a huge fan of the sock-style inner. There is no tongue. It really gives a nice secure feeling. The toe box upper takes a bit to break in, as it feels stiff at first. I did not notice any rubbing or hotspots in my first couple of sessions, so that’s a definite positive. They aren’t the lightest shoes I’ve ever owned, but for the amount of support they offer, they are pretty darn light.”
NikeCourt Air Zoom Vapor Pro
What the reviews say:
‘I am stoked about the comfort of the Nike Court Vapor Pro. The detachable insole that comes with the shoe is rather thick, about 5 mm. The heel cup feels comfortable and tight without putting pressure on the ankle, – it feels locked in. The use of materials in the Vapor Pro is good, the shoe is breathable and light, and easy to get into, and the sole is strong, rigid, and durable. I would say that as a tennis shoe the comfort of the Nike Vapor Pro is on a comparable level to many of my Nike running shoes or even better. I got the white/black color and it looks great on the court.”
Adidas Men’s Gamecourt Wide Tennis Shoe
What the reviews say:
“I was looking for an inexpensive tennis shoe to play on clay. The main feature I was looking for was the tread on the bottom of the shoe. This shoe has a nice herringbone pattern that really works well on the clay surface. It felt very secure and I could move around easily and confidently in it. It is the slip-in kind of Adidas shoe which I like and it has nice padding. It felt very comfortable out of the box and did not require any break-in period. I have other tennis shoes that provide more lateral support but so far these are working out well. I have not yet tried these on the hardcourt so it may play differently on that surface. Overall I am pleased and would consider another purchase. I paid around $50 or so for these.”
K- Swiss Hypercourt Express 2
What the reviews say:
“Great shoes for pickleball. I need the extra support to protect my ankles. The toe box is a bit snug but they break in easily with use.”
